Peer-review Policy
Peer-review is a system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before publication. Independent researchers in relevant research fields assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity, and significance to help editors determine whether or not the manuscript should be published in this journal.
The Journal of Islamic Education and Multicultural (JIEM) operates a double-blind peer-review system. Reviewers do not know the authors' names or affiliations, and reviewer reports provided to authors are anonymous.
The benefit of double-blind peer review is that it allows reviewers to judge a manuscript based on its content alone, and they are not unconsciously biased by knowing who the author is.
Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two or more experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether the manuscript is a duplicate of an already published work, and whether the manuscript is clear enough to be published or not. The Editors will make decisions based on these reports and, if necessary, consult with Editorial Board members.

Authors who publish open access in the Journal of Islamic Education and Multicultural (JIEM) are required to pay an article processing charge (APC). The APC price will be determined from the date on which the article is accepted for publication.
The current APC is: $15
The $15 fee covers the standard ten (10) page manuscript. An extra $1 per page will be charged for every additional page. The editor will provide instructions for money transfer via bank transfer with the notification of acceptance for the accepted paper. We can provide this free of charge if the author's paper is sent from at least two countries (outside Indonesia).
APC covers the range of publishing services we provide. This includes provision of online tools for Editors and authors, article production and hosting, liaison with abstracting and indexing services, and customer services. The APC, payable when your manuscript is editorially accepted and before publication, is charged to you, your funder, institution, or employer.
If you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to cover the author fees, we have a process in place to help. A waiver or partial waiver of author fees may be decided by the editor in case of lack of funding, excessive length of the submitted manuscript, or other reasonable reasons provided by the author during the submission. To request a waiver, simply declare your request in the comments in the editor's box during your submission. This process is designed to ensure that authors are aware of their financial options and can make informed decisions about their publication. Please note that a waiver will likely be denied unless it is requested at this stage, and it will have no effect on the review result.
