Application of the Socio-Scientific Issues Approach to Improving Students' Scientific Literacy Skills on Stoichiometry Material

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) approach in improving students' science literacy skills on stoichiometry material. The SSI approach integrates relevant social issues with scientific concepts, aiming to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts and ability to apply scientific knowledge in social contexts. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest and post-test design. The results show a significant increase in students' science literacy skills after implementing the SSI approach, indicating that the SSI approach effectively improves students' science literacy, particularly in stoichiometry material.
