Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach in developing learning programs using a scientific approach to enhance the generic science skills of prospective mathematics and science teachers. Various literature discussing the implementation of STEM and scientific approaches in education were analyzed through a literature review. The review results indicate that integrating these two approaches can improve generic science skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, understanding scientific concepts, and learning motivation. The conclusion of this study highlights the importance of integrating STEM and scientific approaches into teacher education curricula to prepare competent future teachers to face the challenges of the modern educational landscape.
