Implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Curriculum: Challenges and Opportunities in Higher Education Management

This study investigates the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum in higher education institutions in Indonesia. It focuses on the challenges and opportunities during the implementation process and the management strategies that can be employed to optimize curriculum execution. This study uses a SWOT analysis approach, combining data from institutional reports and results from interviews with university administrators, lecturers, and students. Findings indicate significant progress in curriculum flexibility, student autonomy, and challenges related to resource allocation, lecturer readiness, and administrative support. The article concludes with recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the MBKM curriculum through strategic educational management.
